BEANZ x LINE FRIENDS Collaborative Toy Sells Out with Web3 Integration

Published at: January 27, 2024

Chiru Labs, the creators of Azuki, revealed on January 25 that preorders for their BEANZ toy, developed in partnership with the digital IP platform IPX, have sold out completely. The debut BEANZ figurine, part of the "Winter Wonderland in Hilumia" collection, showcases Jay wearing a hoodie resembling BROWN, the beloved bear from "BROWN and Friends" by IPX (formerly Line Friends).

Preorders opened in early January 2024, offering a winter collection at LINE FRIENDS that included keychains and a tumbler alongside the popular figurine. Fans eagerly welcomed the news of the collection, expressing excitement over the figurine's sell-out status.

The success of the collaboration marks a significant step for Chiru Labs in their exploration of real-world assets and mainstream adoption. Liz Yang, Head of Growth at Chiru Labs, expressed gratitude for the overwhelming response and emphasized the resonance between BEANZ's creativity and LINE FRIENDS' adorable characters.

BEANZ's retail presence extended to a "retail takeover" at the flagship Line Friends store in Gangnam, Seoul, and notable advertising locations like Times Square and Los Angeles. The figurine incorporates Physical Backed Token (PBT) technology, allowing owners to track and register ownership on-chain through a simple scan. PBT aims to decentralize authentication and ownership lineage tracking of physical items on-chain, providing a unique experience for collectors.

Amid talks for a second drop, Chiru and IPX are planning limited-edition gold versions of the BROWN x BEANZ toy. Details for this exclusive sale will be announced soon, further expanding the success and innovation of the BEANZ x LINE FRIENDS collaboration.
