As NFT marketplace Blur gears up for Season 3 rewards, a trader known as Hanwe earned over $8.4 million in airdropped BLUR tokens from Season 2. Hanwe's hanwe.eth wallet, highly active in NFT bids, listings, and lending, received 22.85 million BLUR tokens. Initially valued at $7.3 million, the token's price has since risen by 8% to $0.37.
Blur, surpassing OpenSea in NFT trading volume, announced Season 3 with a new Ethereum layer-2 network named Blast, backed by investors like Paradigm and Standard Crypto. The upcoming season will involve airdrops of "REDACTED" in May 2024.
Blur is also altering its reward structure, with 50% going to those depositing BLUR into the platform. Notable traders like Punk9059 praised participants, such as @ESK_NFT, who turned a 2-3 ETH fund into an $83,100 airdrop during Season 2. Some, like trader Jeffrey Huang, expressed dissatisfaction with their airdrop results, with Huang openly criticizing Blur and its co-founder Tieshun Roquerre on Twitter after Season 2 closed.
