The popular Ethereum NFT project Doodles just made a bold move—launching its first-ever DOOD token on the Solana blockchain. And to celebrate, they're rewarding their loyal community with a massive airdrop for NFT holders.
This is the first big move since Scott Martin, aka Burnt Toast (also the original artist behind Doodles), took over as CEO in January. Martin is steering the project in a fresh direction—one that’s less about corporate partnerships and more about building a culture-first, creative brand that bridges the gap between Web3 users and mainstream audiences.
“We’re building something that speaks to both crypto natives and people who’ve never touched a crypto wallet,” Martin told Decrypt.
Even though Doodles started on Ethereum, the DOOD token launch on Solana shows the project’s flexibility. Why Solana? According to Martin, it's about speed, low fees, and accessibility—all critical for scaling to a wider audience.
Doodles considers itself chain-agnostic—meaning they’ll build wherever it makes the most sense. And right now, Solana is booming, especially with meme coin lovers.
It’s a smart way to give back to loyal fans while also inviting new members into the ecosystem.
Alongside the token, Doodles is also rolling out something super exciting: DreamNet—a decentralized, AI-powered Web3 storytelling platform.
DreamNet allows the community to create characters and worlds, all part of a shared universe. If those creations are later used in media, the original creators earn DOOD token rewards.
This platform taps into the growing trend of AI in storytelling and gives NFT holders another reason to stay involved long term.
So far, we know DOOD won’t stop at storytelling. The team is planning even more utility for the token—Martin mentioned that gaming could be a key part of the future.
“DOOD will be at the center of everything we’re building,” said Martin. “We’re rolling things out intentionally, but our goal is to build a brand that breaks into everyday people’s lives.”
Right now, DOOD is trading around $0.007 and has seen a 12% drop since launch, which isn’t unusual for new tokens. Other NFT tokens like PENGU and ANIME launched with hype but later dropped 78% and 88%, respectively.
Martin addressed this concern by saying that DOOD isn’t just about hype or short-term gains—it’s about creating real, long-term value.
The Doodles NFT project is showing how NFT brands can evolve. From partnerships with McDonald’s and Adidas to now launching a Solana airdrop, DOOD shows how NFT projects are moving beyond collectibles into full-blown ecosystems.
With innovations like DreamNet, community airdrops, and cross-chain flexibility, Doodles is leading the charge toward a more creative and rewarding Web3 future.
The launch of the DOOD token on Solana isn’t just a new chapter for Doodles—it’s a blueprint for how NFT brands can stay relevant, build community, and create long-term value.
Whether you're a crypto enthusiast, NFT collector, or someone new to Web3, this could be one of the most exciting use cases of tokens we’ve seen in 2025.
