Doodles Records Launches First EP with Star-Studded Lineup

Doodles, famous for its NFT profile pictures, started a music label with Sony's Orchard. The first project comes from this partnership—a soundtrack for the short film "Dullsville and the Doodleverse," which is expected to be out later this year.

The first release from Doodles Records is an EP with three songs from the upcoming film. The tracks are "Not in the Store" by Coi Leray, "Can't Hold Me Down" by Lil Wayne, Lil Yachty, and Kyle Richh, and "Doodleverse — Draw Me Closer" by Swae Lee, Lil Yachty, and Pharrell Williams.

These songs will have animated videos directed by the founder of Doodles, Burnt Toast, working with his animation studio, Golden Wolf.

What is 'Dullsville and the Doodleverse'?

'Dullsville and the Doodleverse' is an upcoming short animated film set at the Toronto International Film Festival this September.

The first trailer dropped on July 17, featuring a town known as Dullsville, where creativity is regulated by a company called Dream Pump Industries.

Hap and his cat, Mello, were living humdrum lives until they mistakenly ended up in the Doodleverse—an entire world of creativity. Hap will have to overcome his self-doubt by using his imagination to get back home and change Dullsville forever.

Early Access to Music and Video Premieres

Doodles also launched DoodlesTV, a platform where fans can get early access to new music and video releases.

Music is part of the Doodles genetic makeup, and so we're very excited to kick off Doodles Records, said Julian Holguin, CEO of Doodles. To be working with such amazing artists on our first project is just a dream. We are looking to mix music, animation, and technology to create amazing experiences for artists and fans.

Next week, fans will be able to buy a season one all-access media pass for DoodlesTV, which gives holders early access to the "Dullsville and the Doodleverse" animated special.
