With Covid lockdowns well behind us (hopefully), restaurant reservations are starting to get competitive again, and one LA start-up is offering an NFT-based solution. Tapping into the high-end customer’s love of exclusivity and “being on the list,” NFTable creates “season tickets” which lets restaurants go one step further by allowing their best customers to own a table and time. NFTable found one of their first clients in Angelini Ristorante & Bar, an Italian restaurant in the Pacific Palisades where the start-up's founder has been a long-time customer with his family.
Despite some customer backlash, the risk has not been high for the restaurant. Not much has changed. Angelini only tokenized one table and time, which sold for 130 $SOL (around $4,250), and if the NFT owner doesn’t show or rent their NFT, then Angelini staff will wait 15 minutes before giving the spot to a waiting guest. The revenue for the primary sale was also donated to charity.
