Opensea announced its answer to the 0% royalty marketplace meta today. Starting on Tuesday, November 8th, new Opensea contracts, upgradeable contracts, or new external contracts can choose to prohibit holders from listing their NFTs on blacklisted marketplaces. Opensea will maintain the list, which currently consists of Blur, Looksrare, X2Y2, and Sudoswap.
However, due to the “difficulty of making changes to already minted collections”, they said that they won’t be announcing “any change” to how current NFTs are sold on their platform until at least December 8th. They go on to say that they will check new collections for on-chain enforcement, and if it isn’t there, then they will also not enforce royalties on that collection. So, it seems that they are in fact making changes to how current collections are sold by joining the ranks of the 0% creator fee marketplaces. They don't indicate whether they are reducing their own fees.
