In a surprising turn of events, the impact of the creator coup led by Betty, founder of Deadfellaz, that resulted in Opensea reversing its policy on creators fees has begun to reverberate throughout the ecosystem. Other marketplaces are starting to follow suit, including X2Y2 and Blur. On November 14th, Blur announced that it will enforce royalties on collections that block marketplaces that don’t enforce royalties. They also voiced concerns about Opensea’s blacklist registry, stating that it could develop a monopoly if creators relied on its blacklist tools. They suggested that creators develop their own lists, and Blur has even developed its own blacklist tool for creators.
