Sorry, founders, but Disney is the next Disney.

Half of the NFT projects out there claim to be “the next Disney” or the “Web3 Disney,” but we have bad news for y’all. Disney is the Web3 Disney. They’ve been building in semi-stealth mode for some time now through their partnership with Veve, a parent-friendly, Singapore-based blockchain and app that now runs on Immutable X, an Ethereum Layer 2. Incidentally, OpenSea promised in March to list Immutable X NFTs on their exchange, but we’re still waiting (because of course).

Marvel, another Disney property, announced their drop on Veve in June of 2021 to sell digital collectibles and comic books later in the year, including Spiderman comic book covers (which they even made interactive with AR).

And Disney is clearly here to stay because VeVe just announced their September 30th drop of Star Wars NFTs, another Disney property.

So it seems Disney is without a doubt the Web3 Disney.
