The Masked Singer is introducing an NFT experience for fans. Fox and its Web3 company, Blockchain Creative Labs (BCL), are launching NFTs to coincide with the debut of the new series. The experience offers new interactive features and is an evolution of the digital fan community of the series. Holders of the Masked Singer NFTs, called Masked Singer Stars, will have access to token-gated content, live voting polls, and an online rewards store. Throughout the new series of the singing show, fans can scan on-air QR codes to level up their loyalty points to be eligible to buy the Masked Singer Star NFT.
?Star holders will have the opportunity to compete with each other on a live leaderboard; the more correct votes you cast for the contestant you believe will progress to the next round, the more points you can earn. Also, midseason, Fox will introduce an online store for fans to use their points to redeem digital goods, wearables, and other collectibles. The media company has reminded fans that votes will not impact the outcome of the television show.
Fox and BCL's move to NFTs will likely be welcomed by fans. The strategy of harnessing the potential of NFTs is done in the hopes of increased fan engagement, audience interaction, and monetization of one of their top intellectual properties.
