This past week I have rediscovered twitter spaces for artists. Particularly loved these two hosts and the communities they managed to gather - Matthew L. Bonnstetter and the Real Kato OG. Matthew is a supporter of what he calls NFT artists with heart, and is vocal about his aim to support artists and changemakers who can help him change the world for the better. Kato is a man who has started the squad #KatoKrew, whose mission is to elevate #WomenInNFTs & connect people. For women artists who are interested to join the family, they can apply through this online form.
Some of these twitter spaces can run non-stop for 25 hours --- yes, you read right --- it runs non-stop with rotating co-hosts for more than a day. The spaces often enable artists to be seen by new audiences, and sales do happen both announced and unannounced. But the conversation isn't limited to shilling art and art critique, which is what makes the spaces so free-flowing, fun and enjoyable. Speakers chat naturally about a variety of things; I've heard great conversations about cats, voice artists, and activism through social enterprise this week. Looking forward to more, as much as I can make the time for.
